Childhood Photo Magnetic Save-the-Dates: 60th Birthday Party

The save-the-date is not just for weddings - it's a great way to share a sneak peek of the story and flavor of any upcoming event.

Today, here's a look at save-the-dates for a fun-filled 60th Birthday weekend celebration for Marcy. For such a big milestone, I was inspired to use photographs from her childhood, looking back on a life of many adventures.

The resulting suite led with the text "This little lady is about to celebrate a major milestone."

Rather than use cards, I designed the save-the-date as a magnetic postcard, perfect for throwing on the fridge in advance of the event. For more fun and surprise, each guest received one of these three versions of the magnetic postcard at random. Each with the same text, but all with a different photo to enjoy.

The suite was finished off with a small information card enclosure letting guests know more details about the hotel block for the weekend.

The information card is designed to feel surrounded by piles of old photographs. This is actually a tease of the invitation suite. So check back when I share the invitations for the party in early September on the blog, and you'll see how this look carries through to a fun reveal for guests.

Through Greatest Story Events, I work with party planners to find unique ways to honor their guest of honor, through creative save-the-dates, outside-the-box invitations, favors, and even custom gifts. Birthdays, retirement parties, baby showers, and more - all have special stories to be celebrated.
