"Home" Bookmark Save the Dates + Invitations for Ashley and Justin
Ashley & Justin
September 5, 2015
My cousin Ashley's wedding was quite a whirlwind this fall. In addition to being Ashley's Matron of Honor (and giving a wedding toast for the first time!), I contributed a lot of the creative details as well.
Since there's so much to share (and so many beautiful images from their photographer, Faith Teasley), I'll focus on Ashley and Justin's Save the Dates and Invitations today. I'll be back in other posts to share more of their wedding reception and other details, like the Rehearsal Dinner invitations.
Printed Wood Bookmark Save the Dates
As I shared in this post about Ashley's bridal Shower, the theme/story behind Ashley and Justin's wedding was all about home and how they are each home to one another.
We kicked off the wedding for guests with these double-sided printed wood bookmarks featuring the quote "Home is where our story begins." Wood was a perfect choice to talk about home as its a natural building material, and creating bookmarks allowed us to call to the idea of home being their story and the story of their marriage actually beginning.
We finished each with different color ribbons and mailed them about a year before the wedding.
The Gold Engraved Invitation Suite
Ashley and Justin opted for a more traditional invitation after doing a whimsical save the date. We put together this elegant ivory suite with gold engraving and black letterpress details. Not pictured here, we did include the key design again - on the hotel enclosure card.
One thing we'd hoped to do is to imprint a representation/scan of our grandmother's lace from her original wedding gown. Unfortunately, our printer couldn't execute it in time. We opted for this lace-esque/damask feature instead - knowing what it was meant to symbolize.
Hope you enjoyed this look at how Ashley and Justin's wedding began.
Looking forward to sharing more of this special event with future posts on more beautiful wedding details like programs, escorts cards, and more.
