How to Handle Business Feedback Without Spiraling

Establish Yourself® Podcast | Episode 69

Ever gotten one critical comment and suddenly found yourself questioning everything?!

Your offer.
Your message.
Your sales approach.
Your workbook.
Your whole way of showing up.

It happens fast.

You get one weird reply, one unexpected reaction on a sales call, or one sharp piece of feedback after a workshop… and suddenly, your brain starts building a case.

Maybe I was too pushy.
Maybe I talked about my offer too much.
Maybe I need to change the whole thing.
Maybe I should soften this.
Maybe I should stop saying that.

But one comment should not get to run your business.

Not All Feedback Deserves the Same Weight

In this episode of Establish Yourself® Podcast, I’m talking about one of the most important sleaze-free selling and branding principles I teach: Don’t cater to the critic.

That does not mean you ignore feedback.

It means you learn how to weigh feedback wisely.

Because if you are a coach, consultant, speaker, or service business owner who cares about doing excellent work, feedback matters. You want people to feel respected. You want your message to land. You want your offer to feel clear, helpful, and aligned.

But caring about feedback is not the same thing as treating every comment like gospel.

Sometimes feedback points to something useful. And sometimes one person’s reaction is just one person’s reaction - a person who may never, ever, ever become your client or referral partner.

A Better Way to Handle Feedback

This episode will help you pause before you change everything.

You’ll learn how to ask better questions, like:

  • Is this a pattern or an outlier?

  • Is this person actually my person?

  • Is there anything useful here?

  • Am I improving this for my ideal clients, or am I trying to protect myself from criticism?

That last question is especially powerful. Because sometimes the change is smart. And sometimes the change is fear wearing a strategy costume.
